Ray,
----- I'm
not sure if I've ever sent this or not, but I'm sending my Routon/Anderson
info. This is the Benjamin Routon (sometimes spelled Routon --
or other ways-- in records, but it has been Routon since Benjamin).
Benjamin m. Eliza Anderson, daughter of Thomas Anderson and Mary
Payne. If you do post some of this on your site, hopefully someone
will see the Routon info and may make a contact. I, along with
Leah Routien, (who is NOT from Benjamin but may be connected with
the father of Benjamin) have been searching for so long for a
Benjamin father. This info is considered to be (more or less)
correct, using census records, marriage records, and much info
from my grandmother who m. my Routon, which grandmother, by the
way, was the "historian" of the family before she died
in 1990. My father is deceased, but his brother, 80 yrs, is still
living and has a good memory about these things also. I must tell
you that I have seen apparently 2 Benjamin Franklin Routon men
in the same area, but I'm pretty sure that the one that I have
listed (m. Maria Haley) is my g grandfather's brother.
-----By the way, I have e-mailed with you before and may have
sent this info, but some of the info is updated. The way I found
out about Benjamin and Mary Payne was through Carol Notovini,
after I had found Benjamin in an 1860 census with my grandfather
on it. If you see any errors with info you have, please let me
know.

Hi
Ray, in researching the Routons in KY (with many
different
spellings) I have contact with some descendants
of Benjamin and Eliza Anderson Routon. I received
some info from a friend concerning Grantor/Grantee
indexes from Garrard Coutny. Benjamin and
Eliza sold land in Garrard Co. in 1843, which apparently
they hadn't purchased, so perhaps it was inherited
land from either her family or his, or they sold
it on behalf of a relative. Again, in 1858, Eliza appears
to sell the same parcel of land. Also, it appears
Benjamin and Eliza lived in Russell Co. KY in 1850,
before returning to Lincoln. In 1870, their son Timothy
is listed as a Dry Goods Merchant in the census
for Lincoln Co. Timothy and wife Caroline eventually
end up in Junction City KY when they are older,
with an unmarried daughter Malynda, age 36, living
with them.It appears Malynda dies at age 41, still
ummarried. Many people have kindly shared infor with
me, and it is my habit to pass on anything I find
to whomever might be able to use it. I am sure Benjamin
and Eliza are closely related to my line of Routons,
just can't find parents for Benjamin. Leah

- Hi,
I just visited your Anderson family website. My husband is the
great-grandson of John and Margaret Ends
Routon. On your website, you have John listed as
the
son of Benjamin and Eliza. Although they did have
a
son John W. Routon, we do not believe him to be the
John
Routon who married Margaret Ends. The John Routon
who
married Margaret Ends was born in Lincoln Co. on
October
3, 1843 and died in Lawrencville, IL in 1920.
He
was a Civil War veteran and received a pension. We
believe
he was the son of John Routon Sr. also of Lincoln
Co. The son of Benjamin and Eliza Anderson Routon,
John W. Routon, was only 10 years old in the 1860
census, making him not old enough to have been in
the
Army during the Civil War. Regards,
Leah
